Introduction

Mok Yat-san specialises in large-scale outdoor “Ink Art” landscapes and polar bear sculptures, bridging heritage with contemporary insights. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) in 1993 and a Master of Fine Arts (First Honour) from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in 2004. From 2006 to 2011, Mok held the position of senior instructor at CUHK and served as president of the Hong Kong Sculpture Society. He now works as a parttime lecturer while dedicating himself to his artistic practice.

Between 2002 and 2008, Mok organised a series of Public Art in School projects and curated the 2009 Art in the Park and the 2010 ECHO: Hong Kong Sculpture Biennial. His extensive portfolio features numerous commissions and public art initiatives, including the Art Acquisition Project for the Legislative Council Complex (2011) and Public Art Project – Tamar (2012). Recognized for his unique sculptural creativity, Mok received the Third Prize at the Olympic Art and Sport Contest (2000), the Selected Award for the Public Art Project from the Leisure & Cultural Services Department in multiple years (2001, 2004, 2005), and the Selected Award at China Sculpture Grand Competition Exhibition in Beijing (2013).

Mok has exhibited widely, notably in Yi Pai: Century Mentality at the Today Art Museum, Beijing (2009) and In the Midst of Ethereality and Oblivion at Redtory, Guangzhou, as well as consecutive editions of Art Basel Hong Kong (2014-2016). His works are in the collections of Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Redtory Contemporary Museum of Art, and K11 Art Foundation.

Man Fung-yi is a multimedia artist based in Hong Kong, renowned for her ink installations and metal-lattice sculptures. Her iconic “Cheongsam” (traditional Chinese attire) series crafted from metal lattice was showcased at Louis Vuitton in Taipei, Hong Kong, and Singapore from 2012 to 2014.

A graduate of the Department of Fine Arts at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), Man co-founded Artists’ House with Mok Yat-san in 1995. She earned her MA in Fine Arts from CUHK in 1999 and later served as a part-time lecturer until 2001. In 2008, she obtained a second MA in Taoism from CUHK. Man has exhibited widely, participating in group shows in the U.S., France, Spain, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, and solo exhibitions at the Hong Kong Arts Centre (2014) and Redtory, Guangzhou (2015). Her public artworks are featured at prominent locations such as Hong Kong International Airport and Ko Shan Theatre’s New Wing.

In 2024, Alisan Fine Arts sponsored her participation in the exhibition Personal Structures - Beyond Boundaries at the Venice Biennale. Man has received numerous accolades, including the Hong Kong Women of Excellence in the Six Arts Award (2013) and the Hong Kong Art Biennial Exhibition Award (2003). Her works are in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, Hong Kong Museum of Art, and M+, Hong Kong. Alisan Fine Arts has represented her since 2007.
