Introduction
Alisan Fine Arts proudly presents News Visions, Recent Work by Jiang Dahai, his first exhibition in HK. It is an honour for us to be part of the French May. In fact, we have been partner with the French May since its inception 14 years ago in 1993. And all these years we have introduced to the Hong Kong public many Chinese artists living in France. Some of them are Zao Wou-ki, Chu Teh-chun, Gao Xingjian, Yang Jiechang, Hoo Mojong, to name a few...etc. To me, their works represent the “East-West” synthesis at their best.
We are honored to have the French Consul- General Mr. Thébault with us. Jean-Pierre has held various posts in the French government. He was with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1988-1991 after his graduation from the prestigious E.N.A. the National School of Administration and the Political Institute in Paris. He was the Counselor at the Prime Minister Office and later the Minister of Justice and was at the French Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York in 1995-97. He then became the First counselor at the French Embassy in Berlin, Minister-counselor at the French Embassy in Tokyo, and since September of 2005, the Consul-General of France in Hong Kong. In a few minutes Mr. Thebault will make a few introductory remarks about the artist Jiang Dahai .
