In this exhibition, Beijing artist Hao Shiming, Shanghai painter Qiao Yuan and Hong Kong artist Kassia Ko depict faraway mountains which in use of spiral lines, soft colours and new look ink work respectively, while Cheuk Ka-wai Cherie and Zhang Xiaoli, both represent Hong Kong neo-classical ink art in meticulous painting style to create their surrealistic paintings. The paintings on display are distinct in stylist but similar in inspiration of traditional ink. This is the first time we will be exhibiting Qiao Yuan’s paintings.
