This exhibition is devoted to the late Lui Shou-kwan and the important role he played in the arts in Hong Kong in the 60s and 70s. Since 1984 Alisan Fine Arts has been the only gallery to represent this major artist. The show celebrates the 20th anniversary of his death. It will include 30 of his major works showing the development of his style – from semi-abstract landscapes to his famous pure “Zen” or “Chan” paintings – as well as four of the latest works of his most prominent students: Wucius Wong, Chui Tze-hung, Leung Kui-ting, Kan Tai-keung, Koo Mei, Pat Hui, Irene Chou and Poon Chun-wah. The show will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue including an introduction by Mayching Kao, Professor at the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
